Looking at the past, we can often find project that are very impressive, and I am not even sure anyone would try to accomplish some of these projects.

Here’s one.

The Bell Rock Lighthouse, built in 1807 by Robert Stevenson. Bell Rock was the scene of many shipwrecks over the centuries as it lies just below the surface of the sea for all but a few hours at low tide. Bell Rock Lighthouse is the world’s oldest surviving sea-washed lighthouse. The masonry work on which the lighthouse rests was constructed to such a high standard that it has not been replaced or adapted in 200 years. It was built by hand, with the men working only the 4 hours each day that Bell Rock was exposed.
